Keep strengthened with IECEP’s new leaders

"Unity is the path forward, and we must meet this moment – this very moment as ONE IECEP…," declared by Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, who firmly believes that the success of the organization lies in the coordination and mutual respect among its constituents, in her acceptance speech as the newly elected IECEP National President 2021.

The virtual Oathtaking and Turnover Ceremony of 2021 IECEP National Officers last January 30, 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Live was a huge feat for the organization in bringing its members together despite the pandemic times. The event was graced by honorable guests, namely, DICT’s Undersecretary for Resilient Government Emergency Communications Honorable Alan A. Silor, PECE, who was also the Inducting Officer of the program, the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Electronics Engineering Chairman Dr. Alnar L. Detalla, and the members, Engr. Herminio J. Orbe and Engr. Enrico Claro R. Del Moro, and the former presidents of the institute.

To give appreciation for the dedication in the performance of his duties as the 2020 President, Engr. Christian Lear F. Miquiabas accepted the Leadership Award bestowed unto him in the event. Moreover, the highlights include the inspirational message delivered by the PRC Board of Electronics Engineering Chairman, Dr. Detalla; the turnover speech of the outgoing president, and the acceptance speech of the recently voted president.

In her acceptance speech, the ever energetic and committed Dr. Mishell pledged that, along with the Board of Directors and Committee Members, they will continue to fight for the good of the constitution and the profession through the implementation of Republic Act 9292. In their term, it is expected that the coordination of the members will be strengthened, and corporate social responsibility engagements in service to the community will be prioritized. Additionally, she advocated building trust and taking down barriers among the IECEP members so that success will surely come to fruition. And as she promised, “I will be a president to all chapters, big or small, near or far, local or foreign, to all IECEP Electronic Engineers and Technicians,” which is rooted in her deep desire to reach out to all members as they are the primary drivers of the institution.

Hence, this 71st year of IECEP, with the leadership of Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, will surely be a golden year for the ONE IECEP as a contributor to nation-building and community development.
